When selling a property it is important to visualise the room as if you are a purchaser looking for the first time.
Generally speaking I would recommend clearing down all surfaces of clutter and nik-naks so that you show as much clear open space as possible, for instance in a kitchen clear down the worktops and just have a fruit bowl with a flash colour at one point.
In perhaps a dining room, clear the table and sides and just have a central vase of flowers.
In bedrooms make up the beds, plump the pillows and hide away cuddly bears and trinkets.
Not forgetting to hide the bathroom array of soaps, shampoos and shower gels so that the bold colours don’t clash against the clean white suite.
Take the car off the drive and make sure you’ve cared a little for the gardens at the front because that initial impression is so important. The next thing to take into consideration are odours.
If your property needs it, it is worth opening the windows a few hours prior to a viewing to blast some air through, try not to smoke in the house if at all possible and be mindful of pet smells too!
