As Christmas is almost upon us, lots of you will be distracted by the idea of buying those gifts for the family and visiting relatives this Christmas.  So on that festive note, here is our gift to you this festive season.

If you’re thinking of moving next year by following this shortlist of advice, you should reduce the amount of pain and suffering you will endure!

Speak to your financial advisor well in advance and by using an independent financial advisor, you will avoid having to deal with the bank directly which bring its own bundle of joys.

If you’re selling a property, price it sensibly, have three valuations, don’t always get attracted by the highest valuation, but look for honest and knowledgeable advice with good experience in your local market.

Choose a local independent solicitor, who will take your calls personally, and answer your queries in a timely manner.  They may cost a few pounds more, but believe me, when you want them there and they can help you. It’s a completely different feeling to the alternative.

Give yourself plenty of time… and if you’re thinking of moving in 2025, perhaps start the process in January or February, the market starts much earlier these days.
