I have noticed recently in our local market that lots more agents are adopting the three tier system of property marketing. What I mean by this is the ‘gold’, ‘silver’ and ‘bronze’ packages or ‘select’ or ‘prestige package’…
The question that I ask, is why people should be expected to pay more for a service that should come as standard?
For instance if a client takes a no ‘bells and whistles’ package that only includes internet coverage, would the agent refuse pointblank to help if there was a problem with land registry or if there was a chancel or even a boundary dispute…?
Worse still, would they hold them to ransom by insisting that they upgrade their package to include further assistance…
I imagine that would leave a very bitter taste in my mouth as a vendor and I certainly would not want that for any of our clients.
So… We will remain an agent who wants to give our clients the best service and give as much help as we can in this difficult time of moving. We will not restrict our marketing and service.. For instance by only offering accompanied viewings to a client who pays more, than another.
We treat people as we want to be treated ourselves and that means that we listen and help to find the best solutions to enable them to move home.
